Banner Events: 500 Fan Facebook Giveaway
After much encouragement from family and friends, I finally decided to jump feet first into the event planning world! The last couple of months have flown by. It's no secret that I love to throw parties. I always have! I knew event planning would be busy, exhausting, and require a lot of hard work, but looked forward to it opening up many new and exciting creative outlets for me. (And it has!) What I wasn't prepared for was the fast exposure and success that I would experience or the amazing group of individuals and business owners I would have the privilege of working with and calling 'friends'.
The owner, Nancy, (besides being one of the nicest people you'll ever know) styles the most incredible parties and sells beautiful table runners, garlands, banners & more in her Etsy Shop. You can also follow Nancy's beautiful party ideas & DIY projects over on her blog.

Manicures, Pedicures, Facials...Oh My!
Ahh, who doesn't love to be pampered? Being the girly-girl that she is, Kaylee chose a spa-themed party for her 6th birthday party. As of late, she is all about fingernail polish, pedicures, facials, make-up and fun hairstyles.
We found adorable graphics from My Grafico and asked my incredibly talented friend, Amy Grendell, to design some fun party printables & an invitation using them. I love how everything turned out! We had so much fun coordinating party favors and dessert table elements with the hot pink and green color palette.
The girls loved their custom pink and white polka dot spa pants that they were presented with upon arrival, sewn by another talented friend, Vivian Kerr.
They were treated to a foot soaking in lavendar scented water, foot masages, spa socks & toe nail painting, followed by an avocado mud & cucumber eye mask facial. They were given reading material (princess books) and beverages (pink lemonade served in glass bottles with cute striped straws & party flags).
Each girl was then escorted to the beauty parlor station where fingernails were painted & adorned with flower & jewel art, make up was done & hair was styled.
When they were finished, each girl rocked out to Just Dance 2 on the Wii and enjoyed the colorful dessert and snack table. They took home party favor baskets full of treats & beauty products to replicate their own spa experience at home.
Kaylee had a wonderful time being pampered with her friends for her birthday.

How Do I {LOVE} Thee...?
I {LOVE} love.
Look up 'hopeless romantic' in a dictionary. Yep, there's my picture. O.K., maybe not, but if I wrote the dictionary, *MY* picture would accompany the definition. I'll take that up with Mr. Webster, soon. Like right after I do my taxes and the laundry.
Soooo, you'd guess that one who LOVES love, also loves Valentine's Day, and you'd be right.
I love the hand-written notes, sweet sentiments, thoughtful gestures & simple romance behind the day. It's not about money spent. I still get giddy holding hands (with 4 kids, usually we are holding one of their hands, instead of each others), sneaking a kiss & sharing a conversation without interruption. O.K., and I love the chocolate. Chocolate dipped strawberries. Truffles. You name it, if there is chocolate in it, I'm in love.
This year, the kids & I made these :
And these:
And we may have added cute little labels to these Hershey's chocolates too:
Next year, I'm adding these to our {LOVE} menu.
After all, it's all about the little details...
Speaking of details...Stay tuned for the amazing details of our Valentine's Weekend! Coming up next!

If you haven't already, pick up your copy of the February 2011 issue of Men's Health Magazine in stores now. Josh's weightloss story is highlighted in the "Belly Off" feature. It was an exciting opportunity for him to interview with writers, editors and photographers of the magazine. Men's Health is the world's largest men's magazine.
Here are a few pictures from the photo shoot.
