Friday Flashback: Frolicing at the Fair

Remember last Friday's flashback pumpkin patch post where I mentioned the predictableness of our family? This post is yet another piece of convincing evidence. If you could be arrested for predictability, we'd have been convicted long ago.

Besides being known for having a name that is nearly unpronounceable, our somewhat honkey-tonk city of Puyallup (pronounced pew-Al- up) is known for hosting the biggest fair west of the Mississippi. (This could be urban legend, an old wives tale, or just something we Puyallup folks tell ourselves to make us feel better about living here...)Nevertheless, when the fair comes to town, you go. At least we go. It's another Carver family Fall tradition and we love it. There's something fun about letting the kids blow the monthly entertainment budget on jippy carnival rides & games, the most fattening (but oh-so-good) food and treats and souvenirs that you'd never think twice about buying anywhere but the fair. And, when we've gotten our fill of sugar and grease and our feet can't stand to take another step, we head to our cars with sticky faces and hands and the biggest smiles you can imagine...until the next Fall, when we can "Do the Puyallup" once again.

Here are some snapshots of this year's trip:

I LOVE fairs!!! That one looks so fun! I am a sucker for funnel cake, it's SO ridiculously fattening & bad for you, but AMAZING!!!
